This DIY Salt water car kit allow students to construct their very own car that uses salt water as the energy source. Through the construction process, students can also learn about problem solving and attention to detail when reading the manual. Salt water is an electrolyte that conducts electricity. Magnesium and carbon sheets react with the salt water (the magnesium loses electrons and the oxygen attached to the carbon sheet gains electrons) which creates an electrical current in a closed circuit.
